Our Fall show The Savannah Sipping Society runs November 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, and 15, 2026 at the Mount Tabor Playhouse.  Director Colleen Simm is looking to cast 4 women in this play.

The Savannah Sipping Society is a comedic yet touching story about four women reclaiming their lives—and finding laughter and companionship along the way. Over the course of six months, their bond deepens through humorous misadventures and heartfelt moments. Together, they help one another regain confidence, rediscover joy, and take bold steps toward new beginnings. By the end, they realize the power of friendship and that it’s never too late to start over or create meaningful connections

Characters

Stage age range 40-65

Randa Covington

  • Type: High-strung perfectionist; career-driven
  • Background: A polished, Type-A professional who has recently been forced into early retirement or career upheaval
  • Personality: Organized, controlling, anxious when things aren’t “just so,” but ultimately caring
  • Arc: Learns to loosen up, embrace spontaneity, and rediscover joy outside of work
  • Notes for casting: Strong comedic timing with underlying vulnerability; ability to play tightly wound energy that gradually softens

Dot Haigler

  • Type: Sweet, grounded, quietly lost
  • Background: Recently widowed after a long marriage; unsure how to function independently
  • Personality: Kind, sincere, a bit sheltered; often unintentionally funny
  • Arc: Gains confidence, independence, and a sense of identity beyond her late husband
  • Notes for casting: Warm, relatable presence; good with gentle humor and emotional sincerity

Marlafaye Mosley

  • Type: Bold, brassy, comedic firecracker
  • Background: Recently divorced after her husband left her for a younger woman
  • Personality: Loud, outspoken, flirtatious, and unapologetically honest; uses humor to mask hurt
  • Arc: Moves from anger and insecurity to self-worth and empowerment
  • Notes for casting: Big personality; strong comedic delivery; physical comedy skills a plus

Jinx Jenkins

  • Type: Eccentric, quirky outsider
  • Background: A free-spirited, mysterious woman who claims to be a life coach
  • Personality: Offbeat, unpredictable, seemingly confident but hiding her own struggles
  • Arc: Reveals vulnerability and forms genuine connections with the group
  • Notes for casting: Unique comedic style; comfortable with oddball humor and layered characterization
