Loyola School of Adult and Continuing Education partner up with P.E.C.T. to raise funds for ALS Society
Today is a special day at Mt Tabor Playhouse, Milford. Prince Edward Community Theatre will conduct their final dress rehearsal of “Tuesdays with Morrie” in front of an audience! Students from Loyola School for Adults & Continuing Education will be on hand to see this pre-show and help ALS. Loyola instructor & P.E.C.T. actor Mike Zaffino encouraged his students to come out & see “Tuesdays with Morrie” at this dress rehearsal and their “admission” will go to ALS Canada. As part of his curriculum Zaffino has used “Tuesdays with Morrie” as a teaching tool. This should be a real treat for his students to see the show LIVE. Thank you Loyola and Mike for this great partnership. P.E.C.T. is excited to work with Loyola and raise funds for ALS.
The goal of P.E.C.T.’s season is to create more Partnerships in our community.“P.E.C.T. wants to give back to our community. We have received so much support it is important to give some back.” said Jennifer Goodman, co-publicity co-ordinator for P.E.C.T. “When you look at what ‘Community’ Theatre actually means to the volunteers involved, its not just about the creative outlet, it’s about giving back to the community in more ways then just affordable and accessible theatre. It’s about making our community stronger by supporting each other, increasing awareness and creating strong partnerships. Tuesdays with Morrie was the perfect way for P.E.C.T. to start giving back, because its a story about “giving” of yourself to others.” said Georgia Papanicolaou producer for “Tuesdays with Morrie” and co-publicity co-ordinator for P.E.C.T. P.E.C.T. will also be helping the Picton food bank by selling intermission snacks and collecting cash donations.
